Dirt Boys has just completed their third year as SPIN Farmers (Small Plot Intensive Farming). We have had a blast meeting other like minded farmers in the city like Leaf & Lyre, Grand Trunk Veggies, Happiness By The Acre, Salad Spinners, Eden Project, Tricklin’ Waters Produce, Sweet Market Farm, as well as great customers that value local, tasty produce that hasn’t travelled 100s of miles to get to them. We are involved with a new collective in Calgary called YYC Growers and Distributors. We have successfully run a Community Supported Agriculture harvest box program for 2 years and are getting into our third. If you would like Dirt Boys produce on your table, I would recommend you purchase a share in our Harvest Box program.
SPIN Farming is Urban Farming on peoples backyards, front yards, available public space and selling at markets, through CSA’s (Farm Boxes or Community Supported Agriculture) and direct to restaurants. We have plots in Bridgeland, Renfrew, Crescent Heights and just this year have taken a couple in Inglewood and Ramsay. If you live in any of these neighborhoods and have 750+ square feet of grass that is just being mowed, contact us and we can provide you with a great basket of food every week and the peace of mind knowing that your yard is going into community food production, helping out with food security.
We get excited about selling produce grown in the same neighborhoods that we grow in.
We were interviewed on Shaw TV’s program Farm Fresh a few years back.
